A Real Hometown Hero & True Pioneer

You’ve all heard the story about Constance McMillen, the Itawamba, Mississippi high school student who was banned from attending her senior prom with her girlfriend and you’ve heard the controversy over fake proms, harassment and bullying.

Well, onto bigger and better things for this small town youth as she, along with many other LGBT youth received a prom with a little help from celebrities like Lance Bass and Ellen DeGenderes.  She was also invited (and accepted) to serve as one of the grand marshall’s in the NYC gay pride parade!
