Sophie M. Herold is back.

upagainstthefuckingwall:

http://studying-lgbtq-people.tumblr.com/

And now she wants to “study” LGBTQ people to “find out if LGBTQ people react like normal people.”

To participate she is asking for your full name, address and a picture. DO NOT give her any of this information. She has in the past outed people to their parents etc. and passed personal information on to anti-LGBTQ organisations.

Again, DO NOT GIVE HER YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!

NOM Hacked Again. Are ‘Militant Same-Sex Marriage Activists’ To Blame?

by David Badash

NOM, the National Organization For Marriage, has been hacked again, the second time this week. This time, the hackers limited their attack to the Twitter account of NOM president Brian Brown, and the tweets are, some might say, amusing. No doubt NOM, Brian Brown, and their followers think otherwise. And no doubt Brown will blame “militant same-sex marriage activists” again, again without any proof.

Despite Slurs, Rapper Says He's Not Homophobic | advocate.com

TYLER THE CREATOR X390 (FAIR) | ADVOCATE.COM

Sara Quin, of music duo Tegan and Sara, is asking the music industry why the career of young rapper Tyler The Creator has skyrocketed among traditional and social media, despite his homophobic and misogynistic lyrics.

Quin wrote an open letter to the the music industry, asking why there’s been so much praise for Tyler, whose first solo album Goblin features the language in question.

“If any of the bands whose records are held in similar esteem as Goblin had lyrics littered with rape fantasies and slurs, would they be labeled hate mongers? I realize I could ask that question of DOZENS of other artists, but is Tyler exempt because people are afraid of the backlash? The inevitable claim that detractors are being racist, or the brush-off that not “getting it” would indicate that you’re “old” (or a faggot)? Because, the more I think about it, the more I think people don’t actually want to go up against this particular bully because he’s popular. Who sticks up for women and gay people now? It seems entirely uncool to do so in the indie rock world, and I’ll argue that point with ANYONE.”

Tyler responded Sunday on Twitter with, “If Tegan And Sara Need Some Hard Dick, Hit Me Up!”

In a profile published by The Guardian, the rapper, who sees his work akin to The Sex Pistols and The Doors, said he is offended to be called a homophobe.

“Somebody called me a homophobe,” he said. “I’m not homophobic. I just say ‘faggot’ and use ‘gay’ as an adjective to describe stupid shit.”

Michele Bachmann’s Head-Banging, Gay-Bashing BFF

solemnhypnotik:

How the Minnesota lawmaker fell in with a controversial hair-metal evangelist.

— By Tim Murphy

In late September, Rep. Michele Bachmann (R–Minn.) will travel to a greyhound racetrack on the outskirts of Kansas City, Kansas, to speak at the Freedom Jamboree, a five-day festival billed as “the first national nominating convention” for the tea party. Bachmann, who is considering a run for president, will be joined by some familiar faces—WorldNetDaily editor and arch-birther Joseph Farah will be there; so will Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach, the architect of Arizona’s harsh immigration law.

One confirmed speaker, however, is not like all the others: Bradlee Dean is a Minnesota radio host, anti-gay activist, and drummer for the band Junkyard Prophet, voted “the second-best unsigned band in the nation” in 1996 by Heaven’s Metal magazine. Dean is likely the only scheduled speaker with a tattoo of Abraham sacrificing Isaac on his forearm; he is almost certainly the only scheduled speaker who has ever gone more than a decade without cutting his hair—a lifestyle decision that gives him a more-than-passing resemblance to Poison’s Bret Michaels.

Anti-gay Sally Kern this time slams black people

An Oklahoma lawmaker who gained national notoriety with an anti-homosexual rant in 2008 disparaged blacks and women during a debate this week on an affirmative action bill, prompting the head of the state NAACP chapter to demand her resignation. Republican state Rep. Sally Kern, of Oklahoma City, said Thursday she was sorry for remarks she made on the floor of the House and that she had “misspoke.”

During a legislative debate late Wednesday, Kern questioned whether there were disproportionately high numbers of blacks in state prisons because “they didn’t want to work hard in school.” Kern also said women don’t work as hard as men because they “tend to think a little bit more about their families.”

The president of the Oklahoma State Conference of the National Association of the Advancement of Colored People rejected Kern’s apology.

“Her constituents in her district should call for her to step down unless they support her in what she said,” Anthony Douglas said. “Let’s send a message out that in Oklahoma we will not tolerate racism at its ugliest level.”

Kern, a retired teacher, is serving her fourth two-year term in the House after being easily re-elected in November from a district that has traditionally supported socially conservative candidates.

“Women are some of the hardest workers in the world,” she said in her statement Thursday. She also said her husband “is a pastor of a diverse inner-city church and the way that my words came out last night is certainly not my true spirit.”

In 2008, Kern was criticized after saying at a political forum that gay people posed a greater threat to the U.S. than terrorists. In 2009, she campaigned for a proclamation criticizing the government for drifting from traditional Christian values.

Kern’s remarks Wednesday came during a debate on a proposed constitutional amendment to end discrimination and preferential treatment in state government hiring and contracting based on race, color, sex, ethnicity or national origin. It passed the House 59-14 and now goes to voters next year.

“It kind of seems to me that the premise here tonight is that color and sex is the sole factor that determines whether or not you get ahead or whether or not you don’t get ahead,” Kern said during the debate.

“It’s character that ought to count, not whether or not you’re black, whether you’re white, whether you’re purple, whether you’re whatever. It should be your character. It should be your willingness to say I’m going to become everything I can become,” she said.
